Stereotyping

Stereotyping is unfair and sometimes racist. It makes people feel bad and it makes people think they are different. I think it should stop.

Some people think that all American policeman always have donuts to eat.  I’m not sure if policeman always eat donuts because I’ve never been to America.  I’m sure that they don't always eat donuts as police people have to be fit enough to pass fitness tests.

A second example of stereotyping is all Indians work at Domino's. I disagree because l’ve seen a person that wasn't Indian. I think that is unfair, cruel and mean.

All Americans eat junk food. I agree and don’t agree because I’ve never been to America.  I think that people shouldn't say that because it might not be true.

Stereotyping is unfair, cruel and not nice.  I think it should stop.
Some people feel offended and the people who are saying the stereotypes don’t know.

Camp moment

Outside, water, the tuatara slide and lane pool wait impatiently for the children to play with them then the kids splash, bomb and fly on their tummies down the slide at the hot pools.

Outside, helmets, bikes and kids enjoy riding the tracks through the forest as the instructor explaining the rules, teaching us new skills and playing fun games with us on the tracks.

Inside, sleeping bags, clothes and shoes hang around on the spare bunk and on the ground as the girls chatted, competed in card games and played with our torches in their bunk room.
